An essential service, often left until the test fails
Stairwell pressurisation keeps a fire stair tenable. Fans, relief, doors, controls and the fire-mode interface all have to work together. The plant is tested, repaired, upgraded and maintained.
This is essential-services work. It belongs with a mechanical contractor who will still be there after the certificate. Contract customers can put the stair system on the same program as the rest of the HVAC plant, with 24-hour emergency attendance when it is down.
