Diagnosis before a replacement pitch

When a system stops, the useful first step is a diagnosis. Some faults are a contactor, a drain, a sensor or a charge. Others need a compressor, a coil or a control board. You get the cause, the options and a quote. If parts are obsolete, or the repair costs more than the plant is worth, that is said, and a replacement is priced.

Replacement is not the default. A lot of companies can only install single-head splits, so a repair conversation turns into a new-unit conversation. These technicians hold full refrigeration and air conditioning qualifications, and most are dual-trade. Where a repair keeps the building running until a lease event or a capital budget, that is the job.

Critical equipment and contract customers have 24-hour emergency attendance. The people who answer are local technicians.

Genuine OEM parts are the first choice. When the manufacturer no longer supports a unit, or a retrofit part is the sound engineering choice, trade and manufacturer partners are used and the outcome is still owned.
